Discovering the native flora
We propose a tour of a unique enclave, Sierra Morena, to the height of this region of Cordoba that surrounds us, and which offers a wonderful environment with, as you will see, amazing views. The estate through which this trail passes has some 2,500 hectares of pine and holm oak forest. If you are passionate about the world of plants, you will love this walk among pine trees (Pinus Pinea) and maritime pines (Pinus Pinaster). Although you will also come across Quercus species, including the predominant Quercus Ilex, our much-loved holm oak. Of course, we will also see many other species, although to a lesser extent, such as leguminous plants, grasses and rosaceae, among others.
A walk between two rivers
This splendid site belonging to the town of Adamuz is bordered by two rivers, the Varas and the Matapuercas. This circumstance makes this hiking route in Cordoba even more interesting. The banks of the river, with their ash trees and oleanders, serve as a refuge for a variety of animal species so various as grey herons, otters and even tortoises.
The Deer Trail and many other species
Continuing with the fauna, and as you can imagine, what predominates in this enclave is mostly wild boar and deer. Hence the name of this trail, as there are more than 700 cattle counted here. It is very likely that you will see some of these beautiful wild deer along the route. And perhaps also other notable species such as partridges, eagles, foxes...
An ideal experience also for the little ones
On the other hand, and as we know that you are passionate about the animal world, on this hiking route in Cordoba we will go through another natural environment, this time in a farm, where the little ones will have a great time with the typical (and not so typical) farm animals: chickens, turkeys, peacocks, swans, goats, etc.
The kids will love it. And so will you. So much for the wildlife and the flora that inhabits these mountains. And of course, for its spectacular natural landscapes, of admirable beauty. A real spectacle for the senses.
If you have chosen this activity, you are sure to be a true animal lover. That's why this hiking route in Cordoba along the Deer Trail will be an experience that both young and old will enjoy.
